 by lirrelectrician ¦  Sun Oct 05, 2014 4:01 pm ¦  Forum: Amtrak ¦  Topic: Don Phillips Tee Off ¦  Replies: 36 ¦  Views: 7447

I lost all respect for Don Phillips as he said Boardman stopped the sunset improvements with no reason. The reason it was stopped is UP demanded $750 million in track improvements which of course Amtrak doesnt have. Of course Phillips didnt mention that in the article. It is obvious Phillips has som...

Hello all, I have heard that the P&W is getting 4 or 6 standard cab C40-8s from Union Pacific. This comes from two P&W employees. They just arent sure how many exactly. Look for the P&W to trade in the 5 B units also. Rumor also has that the units will go to Juniata for cab signals/ACSES...

Hello all, What i dont understand with the Housatonic situation is if they are really in dire straights wouldnt it make sense to try to sell it now and maybe make a few dollars than letting to property totally deteriorate to the point it will pretty much be worthless. Does the HRRC have any sort of ...

Hello all, Speaking of the P&W and HRRC, didnt the P&W file an "adverse abandonment" with the STB on the HRRC when they took the Maybrook out of service. I was just wondering what ever happened to that. It is also of my opionion that if someone were to take over the HRRC , it shoul...

They are not Pure SD-45s. They were rebuilt to SD40-2 standards with a 16 cylider 645 engine instead of the 20 cylider. They do however have the SD45 flared radiators. PAR 601 is one such example already.

Hello again, The paper barriers is one reason why CSX sold the right to the Mass Coastal. It was speculated that the P&W would get them, but with the P&W having connections to other class 1s CSX could lose the traffic. Paper barriers also keep the CSO from interchanging with anyone except CS...

Hello all, There have been many rumors over the years that CSX would pull out of Southeast, MA. Now with CSX selling the New Bedford and Fall River lines to the Mass Coastal, do you think CSX will keep the rest of the Middleboro area Lines as well as the services out of Readville? Another rumor sufa...

Hello all, Does anyone in the know what PAS plans are for this line? It is part of the PAS system map. But the tracks are downright horrible and they lost some customers (Tilcon being one). Either PAS should step up to the plate and fix it up and try to win back Tilcon , etc or sell it to someone th...

Hello all, Wow , Railroad management actually sitting down with employees. I guess working for the NECR isnt all that bad. Id love to see management do that on the LIRR.
