PBN: "Car volume to increase at Quonset as distributor signs contract with Ford"

http://www.pbn.com/stories/51686.html

According to the article, the new relationship will call for 25,000 up to 75,000 cars to be transported annully. It also mentions that Norfolf & Southern Railroad will be involved, not sure how that works with P&W, but either way, nice to see more use of rail in RI!

What effect will this have on the Ayer facility? Aren't Fords unloaded there currently?

This probably explains P&Ws little fight with National Grid about adding a second track from Worcetser to Barbers Crossing.

Yes, but now they will unload more.

The plan is an expansion, in volume/traffic of what is already there.
