Hi Kingfish,

I was the owner of U23B #2209. I sold it in May of 2007 and it left Ridgefield Park NJ in August. I know it arrived at CSX Selkirk on August 21 2007.
Do you have any idea where it ended up after that? I never saw any reports of anyone seeing it after it left RP.
Ron mentioned something to me last year about it going to some outfit in Utica but I never saw anything.
I was curious if you knew anything about it.

I miss that lokey. :(

BDLX 2209 was sent to Utica in 2007 were the new owner had the engine block, traction motors and other components removed for his project. the rest of the 2209 was turned over to Susquehanna Loco & Car repair. They have since used the 2209 as a test bed for refurbished 12 cylinder engine blocks from the RMDI stock of B30-7A that had their frames used on the Railpower hybrid locomotives.

Hello Al (Trainmanal4243) this is George.

Hard to believe Buffy (Bob C.) has been gone for 16 years. The wife and I miss him a lot. Thank youfor answering Pete's question on 2209 as I lost track of what Ron did with it in Utica.

The 2304 should be coming out of UT early next week and interchanging to CSX for delivery to NYSW/SYR. Then it goes to NS/Bing and then to the new owner.

I understand the new colour scheme is black. Don't know for sure as I have not seen it in person.

Happy New Years,

Kingfish

Status quo as of now.

There are no plans in place for the F45 or the SD40 other than keep them parked. One idea that I have been kicking around is to put together a proposal to use 3020 as a road slug. Initial investment to make it a lead worthy slug along with modding two SD40-2 units to supply the power versus fuel efficiency returns is what would be required.

George,

It has been a long time since Bob C died. As I think about it about a dozen of the Adirondack Scenic original members have died in the past 10 years. I am working with Ron D to sell four FL9s (parts units) and a F7 complete which we are not using on the Adirondack. I have seen the 2304 in its black paint and limited markings.

Was I to guess I'd say that unit's headed either to Owego or directly to Sayre, to be power for the "Lehigh Railway" that's intended to take over the former LV main from Sayre to Mehoopany. (Per posts elsewhere on this forum).

A question for NYSW. With Helm selling the former UP "GP38-3s" that Morrison-Knudson
built from GP40s but left the GP40 radiator & 3 fans, would it be cheaper for NYSW to
purchase something like this instead of paying on a lease for NS & CSX GP38-2s, some of
questionable quality. When I see one unit that is of L&N lineage(CSX 2523) and see NYSW with a
former Durham & Southern (1972)[2556] unit,I wonder. I am proud of the NYSW maintenance employees who
keep power running...... :-D

The thought of creating a 6-axle road slug is a very valid one. N&W created 2 (1 from a SD35 and the
second from E-L SDP45 3637) and I saw them quite frequently on coal trains mu'ed with SD45's on each end.
(N&W 1765-1769).
