I just heard that CSX is pulling out of NYCT and Little Ferry, NJ for container traffic that is destined for the Midwest.....So I'm guessing if NS doesn't pick this up it will go to truck on the Interstate..... Unless of course NS looking into grabbing it and runs it on the Tier!! Thoughts / reason...
They were EB through Buffalo Saturday at 1:00PM. The burn marks on 9624's long hood were unmistakable.
I don't believe that NS ever stated that, "as of 29 June 2012, we will be handling X new trains and Y numbers of new container business in Mechanicville". Nothing ever happens quickly enough for you, SJ. They have a business plan; it's in effect; and they are DEVELOPING traffic to support ...

It doesn't look any different (more/less busy) than it has for many, many months. Little to no activity other than changing road crews and the locals.
Maybe if the Conrail Historical Society did what the LV's did, then possibly the nose could be corrected while the CR unit is down for mechanical repair. Just a thought.....
