"Syracuse" also had couplers on both ends.

Being 1968 NYC or PC could easily have comped them another car out of storage somewhere.

I'll be folding some other Strates topics into this thread; it appears we haven't been tracking in a while:

Per the Strates FB page on 5/11 (Friday):
Train Update:
CSX is finalizing the arrangements for the locomotives that will pull the train to Jersey City, NJ, and we have been assured that the train will be underway by Sunday! As soon as we have an exact departure time we will post it.

CSX will hand the train off to Norfolk Southern Corp for a short run to The Meadowlands where it will be unloaded on Thursday on New Jersey Transit tracks. From there, Norfolk Southern will take the empty train to the Middletown, NY area for storage.

With the Strates show train going to the Meadowlands on NJ transit tracks via NS, when will the train be leaving the meadowlands to head back to Port Jervis for the Orange County Fair in Middletown, NY? If they are not handling the Orange County Fair this year, where will the train be headed to after the Meadowlands?
