I wouldn't know what the tie and rail conditions are like back there on all that inaccessable private property, but I do know the SCCVBB has been interested in getting a tourist train into downtown for a decade now.

Interesting update- it looks like the Wellsboro & Corning will be getting money from NY to rehab their tracks in Steuben County.

From http://www.governor.ny.gov/assets/docum ... ooklet.pdf yesterday:
The Wellsboro & Corning Railroad will restore 11
miles of main line railroad track and reconstruct
approximately 3,500 feet of former second
main track. The project will allow the railroad
to continue to provide timely, efficient, and
environmentally friendly service to rail served
customers in the Southern Tier of NY.
This is apparently part of a business stimulus program. Will the 2nd track be near Mulholland Road for the water train?

Well there was quite a derailment over the summer on the NYS side. It's 10 mph right now. And with the unit water trains starting this will be welcome rebuilding in tandem with that. Incidentally, we rode the TC Saturday. The seven o'clock was sold out as was the five o'clock. Good to see.

Cant find any evidence that they ever actually operated with the "Walled Lake Scenic Railway" in Michigan,
but they were definitely there:

I would guess they never did operate there, since they were never repainted from their Montreal commuter schemes,
(last operated there in 2002) and their AMT lettering wasnt even removed..
looks like they probably sat from 2002 until now..

I caught 1306 back on 11/20/02 as it paused on a wb CSX freight along Broadway in Buffalo. Got a few slides & prints of it, one of which appeared in Railpace. Later found out it was headed for Coe Rail but lost track of it after that.
