CSX has been sending units in need of repairs to other facilities in the past few weeks. Due in part to Waterville being swamped with work for the foreseeable future. A few GP38-3's and I think a SD50-3 went west a few weeks ago.

Also its worth noting that MEC 316 and 3400 came back from B&E, supposedly as more G&W power is revived the CSX owned units will be sent back. So far the two have yet to renter service, but they are dead and drained at Waterville.
As for 300's the follow are still kicking as of 3/22:
305
307
310
383
For the 500's:
501
502
504
505
506
507
512
514
515
516
517
518
For dead 300's they are as follow:
306 (In need of draft gear replacement)
315 (Dead but is in the process of being reactivated)
316 (Dead & Drained)
319 (In need of draft gear replacement)
321 (In need of draft gear replacement, repairs to front pilot, & is missing parts)
326 (In need of draft gear replacement)
330 (Operational, in need of draft gear replacement)
351 (Stored missing number boards, operational AFAIK)
353 (Stored missing number boards, operational AFAIK) Rewired and reactivated under CSX following fire in 2021.
354 (Missing misc parts, turbo, & generator) CSX did quite a bit of rewiring and work to get this one running again, before putting plans on hold to get it fully operational. No idea what the current status is, but some less than credible sources on Facebook have said its being scrapped next month, for the last year.

For dead 500's there is as follows:

503 (Not sure what is wrong with it, but its parked on the end of a string of blown up SD40-3's on the east end of WA)
509 (Radiator leak, missing misc parts, supposedly on the list to be retired)
510 (OOS, being prepped for reactivation)
511 (Dead by the transfer table, parts have been robbed to fix some of the SD40-3's)

For dead 3400's:

3400 (Dead & Drained)

SW1's:

007 (Dead & Drained on a shop track)

I would include C40-8's, but at this point I am not sure what is dead, alive, or out on B&E. It seems like a lot of the operational ones have been pulled from service recently and stored. There doesn't appear to be any dead B40-8's in the open at Waterville and I didn't bother to write down what CSX power is oos. However, I noticed quite a few dead GP38-2's that had been reactivated, which is likely why 315 and 510 are being revived.
There are also 2-3 CSX C40-8W's being used for parts as well as supposedly a pair of GP40-2's in the round house, and two SD50-3's by the river, which I have heard that they will be cut up when the price of steel is high although that hasn't been confirmed.

You forgot the 313. It has gone back as well. 350 may be the next one to go back. And the 502 is still on lease to B&E.

I forgot about 313. I think that leaves 345, 350, 381, and 502 on B&E for geeps as well as 3401-3405. Did CSX transfer ownership of the C40-8W's to B&E, or are those leased?

345-350 (now out of service)-381-502-3401-3402-3403-3404 remain on lease to B&E for now.

3405-5000-5001-5930-5936-5943-5946-5967-5974-7489-7517-7518-7523-7528-7535-7541-7635-7655-7727-7797-7835-7875-7898 are all owned by G&W now.

MEC 316 was revived from the deadline over the weekend. Sounds like the 300's and 500's will be making a comeback, as some of the GP40-2's and GP38-2's are being back. According to a friend of a friend who works at the shops, pretty much every geep CSX has assigned up here have been "turds" aside from 2548, which after two years seems to have finally had the kinks worked out. The GP40-2's which have been coming up have supposedly been in worse condition than some of the 300's, probably due to them being stored for the last decade. I think there is at least two GP38-2's and a GP40-2 in the deadline at Waterville after suffering catastrophic engine failures. Its also worth noting 7594 and 7595 have both been sent to Huntington WV for storage. I believe thats also where the CSX power which has been shipped out for the past few weeks has gone.
