Are the two BAR BL-2's still at the Janesville & Southeastern as well? Is BAR #57 still at the Cole Transportation Museum in Bangor? According to Wikipedia BAR #51 ex#551 lightened by 10 tons for service on the Greenville Branch scrapped 1993 As far as I know #52 & #56 are still in Wisconsi...

Bangor and Aroostook BL2 #51

I have photos of this unit at the Derby shops back in 1992(?) after all the other BL2's had been sold off (or donated). Does anyone know the fate of this engine? I belive at the time it had been sold to Glenn Monhart in Wisconsin to join #52 & #56 but as far as I know it never made it.

Friend of mine who is a CSX conductor tells me a story about hitting a moose on the Boston&Albany out in the hills of western Mass. They didn't hit the moose, the moose hit them. At about 5mph they tried turning off the lights, and blowing the horn. Apparently the moose took the horn as a challa...

Oh, and just so everyone knows, there is more than one Eagle Lake in Maine. The town of Eagle Lake is not where the steamers are. They're in the Allagash NNW of Moosehead lake in Piscataquis county.

The easiest way to see them is by snowmobile. They've been on my list of things to see, maybe this winter. There may be a snowmobile tour available from one of the local rental places. It's about a 6hr round trip from what I've been led to believe.

I was taking the scenic route along RT 4 thru Grafton NH the other day and was surprised to see a semi trailer on the side of the road in someones' front yard with a G&U logo on the front wall. At least 1 piece has escaped the relentless scrappers. I wish I had taken a photo. I'll get it next ti...

Oddly enough, I found my own pictures. I was taking some left behind magazines out of my parents' house and found an issue of the B&M Bullitin and low and behold, here's an article about the accident with pictures. Who knew.....?

I ran into a very pleasant employee of New Hampshire Central RR today in his HiRail pickup. He informed me that there will probably be a move next week to store more cars on the siding just west of Hazen. And sometime next spring they're expecting a large transformer to be shipped to the power plant...

I remember taking a few pictures of #19 when it was sitting in Greensboro (?) 1/92. I guess it made it to the engine house then on to the scrap pile. Just like the P&W #1601 and Amtrak #117& #144 RS3's that were scrapped in Morrisville about that time.

Does anyone know the disposition of the 70Ts from Vermont. One of the units went to NC, but I don't know which one and I know #50 became M&B 19 and was still kicking around VT up until they scrapped the Lamoille Valley. Did that get scrapped too?

I have no details. I have only seen a picture of an F unit on NERAIL that states it was wrecked in Canaan NH 8/49. I'd like to know more, but I've been unable to find any other details.
