Re: Rock Of Ages

I must ask - Why do you feel it's your right to trespass on railroad property and continue to give train crews reasons to dislike railfans? Not only are a few of your photos taken from within the right of way, one of your photos is taken from the top of a railcar! Seriously, there are plenty of phot...

323 / 324 has a general tendency to go on duty (at the home or away) terminal at around 8-11 PM. They are generally arriving at the "far" terminal (St A or Bratt) within 10-11 hours run time.

Personally, I liked my 12 hour trips. Can you say "MONEY!" ?

Might take a while. The track above the switchback is in horrible shape, and generally limited to 5 mph/walking speed. The FRA has been watching the operations down there, including citing a part time engineer with a major rules violation for the use of a cellular phone. The track isn't holding up, ...

The guy you want to talk to is Josh Shedakur (shed-uh-kerr) - he's one of the hobby's DCC experts, and a personal friend.

Tell him his buddy from NECR sent ya. Call him M-F from 8-4. He's usually available. It'll save you a wasted trip to see the non-existant show room :-)

Are you the guy in Palmer who wanted to stop switching about halfway thru the train so he could go on his vacation early? Yeah, really funny. If I had to work outta Palmer, I'd want to go home early every day too! That's the "home" of all the micro-managing.... ...If you've never w...

Have you been to Tony's before? If you haven't, it's not really a "show room" type sales place. Most of their stuff is informal, and isn't usually face-to-face type sales. Usually phone or internet. If you haven't been there before, and haven't seen it already, you'll be disappointed. With...

I understand your points. I don't think I was giving anyone any credit though. I was just summarizing for the folks looking in what was going on. We didn't have the safety picnics, or any other events this year and I believe I was told they wanted to wrap everything up in one meeting. Again that's ...

From what I've heard, the 1500 is only being used temporarily to evaluate it's status.

There's a dead "calf" to go with it that's in St Albans for storage/repair. The 1500 was in St. Albans for the same thing up until recently.

In response to other meetings on RA properties, I think this was the initiative of the General Manager. Given the economy, and subsequent lay off of employees the railroad really had not had any employee events such as safety meetings, employee picnic etc... It seemed like a good time to get folks ...

Never in the history of my employment have they EVER gotten us all together. Even for rules training, they split it up over multiple sessions / groups at different terminals. The only reason they'd be getting everyone together would be to ratify something within the union - and let me tell you - tha...

None of the railroaders eat at the Polka Dot anymore. The three places that are frequented are the diner behind the Chinese restaurant off 89, the truck stop in Lebanon off the DHMC exit, and the bakery in downtown WRJ next to the Coolidge. They tried to have the crews in WRJ stay at the Coolidge bu...

You can't move non-compliance stuff in interchange, and it needs 100% operative brakes to be able to move. once on road a 85% brake rate needs to be maintained, so your cars with BRAKE problems are highly illegal. The P&W did pick up the cars last night with CT-2 Cars with brake problems were t...

Moved OOS for repair or FRA exemption perhaps? Did it on the VTR... 15 empty crippled tank cars with no breaks, and an empty Omya slurry tank for brakes. :(

We've got 10 furloughed right now.

The guarantee? Nobody ever sees just the guarantee. With how fucked up Shute, Rivers, and Richardson got this place right now, we won't see light of day for a long time.
