But I’ve been meaning to ask and express if SEPTA would exercise their options on both contracts. I think it make sense , particularly for the price and ridership levels. And the price tag wasn’t too hefty.
SEPTA has Silverliner VIs? When did the first car arrive?

With 902 and 903 purportedly on the property and 904 and 905 arriving any day, it will be interesting to see when the testing expands. I would expect that there will be a good deal of fanfare once they enter revenue service.

Figure on 901 going online after the 1st "meatball"(AEM-7) has a major component failure/fire.

Septa City Sprinters #s 904 & 905 were moved from Woodbourne to Wayne Jct this afternoon on W991. Seen here behind Septa #70 through Philmont.

I'll try to get it on the RR archives. The train passed though 30th Street and made a quick stop for some papers.

901 came into Lansdale around 10am on Saturday with 3 coaches. I was surprised at how quietly they operate (excluding the horns) compared to an AEM-7. You don’t hear the roar of cooling fans or the constant spitting from the air tanks like an AEM-7. They have about the same noise factor as a MU. The paint job looks just as dull in person as they do in photographs. It looks like it was inspired by a mailman’s box truck.

Looking at the new signal configuration at Lansdale, boarding these trains on the old Plug track will be problematic since only 2 coaches will fit on the platform with the locomotive stopped short of the new Main Street dwarf signals (inbound).

air tanks? I thought that was the popcorn popper?

Really though, the only electrics I can think of with more personality than an AEM7, have connecting rods - which probably means crews can't wait to see them go.

Don’t forget the loud buzzing racket of the HEP converter.
