The GP-38s all had heralds on them, but you're right. Visually they weren't much to look at.

Speaking of odd engines, the NJT Spirit Of Our Armed Forces engine is on the Atlantic City Line, for those who are interested.

Not too often an ALP45 ends up down there.

A question (historical): when Amtrak ran AC service (1989-1995), was there any 403b funding? No state support
from NJDOT or NJT was mentioned in timetables. Or was private subsidy from casinos used, much like the ACES Train in 2009?

RCT and Everyone: The Atlantic City Line is suspended indefinitely between 30th Street Station and
Cherry Hill in both directions with alternate bus service being provided after the overhead rail bridge
at the Betsy Ross Bridge Exit 27 northbound was struck and damaged...For a further Google Earth view
see "I-95, Philadelphia, PA 19137"...This is the NJT/CR route leading to the Delair Bridge and Pennsauken...

With this line temporarily out of service how many ACRL equipment sets needed to provide service?
At the time of this incident were any sets in Philadelphia? Can the River Line be an alternative to allow
equipment to be changed out when necessary depending on the I-95 bridge repair timeline?

With northbound I-95 closed the repair work to get the roadway and ACRL back up and running is
going to be ASAP with the potential for major traffic troubles in the area...MACTRAXX

We were coming back from our summer home in Delaware and arrived about 15 minutes after the strike. There was debris from the tank supports on the road by the center lane barrier. Also at that time the south bound lanes were closed due to several small accidents caused by rubber necking. We were maybe 100 yard from the bridge when a NJ Transit train went over the bridge heading towards 30th street station. Why wasn't rail traffic halted sooner? This could have been a disaster of epic proportions if that span would have collapsed with the train on it. We were way to close if that would have happened.
