I don't have a whole lot of information on the CV branch, mainly, because I don't think there is alot. But I don't think the washout happened until long after that line had been torn up. I think it's last run was around August (12??) of 1956. There is a sign on 10 East of the Warnerville Cut-Off Roa...

Why no HO scale McDonald's?

Does anyone else find it hard to believe there aren't any kits for a McDonalds in HO scale, or any other scale for that matter?
Maybe Lionel, that's all I can think of.
Here we have what is probably the most popular fast food restaurant chain in history, and you can't get an HO model of it anywhere.

You can follow most of the line to Cherry Valley, though, the ROW roughly follows Route 20, and there's still a pretty substantial overpass the state built in the 50s at one point. But isn't that mostly private property right now? I would love to walk that area, (not now, I don't want to get shot b...

Anyone here have any suggestions for dropping resistors for TOMAR LED's, Tri color, for a 12 volt systme, or even a 9 volt system? I have NO idea how to figure out resistor values.

Funny thing is, as it turns out, the decoder is AOK...Just problems with the truck contacts. I know how to fix them now. It is just very frustrating. I probably will by more Athearn, eventually, but I doubt I will buy it with sound. If I get sound, I'll go to a DCC store and buy an aftermarket decod...

One answer at a time: So, with that simple fix, we are curious. Will you ever buy another Athearn product again? :P Let's say maybe.....I doubt I'll by any more Genesis, especially with sound. It's the first one I've bought with sound, and If I remember, I think the SD60M is the first Athearn with s...

from what I can tell, it is a new style of truck pickup. There is a blackened metal plate on the section between the truck gearbox and the wheels. The wires go to two brass prongs coming out from within the gearbox. It would appear to me that the actual metal tube that holds the plastic side frames ...

well, see here is what happened, after the new decoder didn't work, I found it hard to believe that 2 decoders would be bad, so that is when the dissection began and I narrowed it down to the trucks; I'll try one truck first to see if that is the problem by soldering a wire from the pickup tab itsel...

I have narrowed it down to this: There is no power being picked up by and/or through the trucks, which lead me to believe I will be doing some soldering tomorrow of some sort after work.

Does anyone else here think the athearn genesis sd60m is pure crap? I just bought one with sound, had all kinds of problems with dcc picking up it's decoder, bought a new QSI Decoder, with sound and am up to almost 300 bucks only to find out it wasn't the decoder that was garbage, it was athearn. It...

Tower 55 was toying with the idea of this. I had some eMail conversations with the guy in charge, I forget his name. The were going to do one of those "Heritage" schemes of their own that they did with NP/WP/MLW, etc......I don't know what will happen now, I understand Athearn bought their...

Why wouldn't or couldn't they just have made it single track, and removed one set of light each way from each mast? Didn't they do that in most of the areas long before CP acquired D&H?

if your not going with remote switch controls, do what I did: Go to radio shack and get the small DPDT slide switches. Get some piano wire and drill a small hole into the slide switch and wire the lights to that and that small slide switch will control the turnout.
