On the WNYP this morning 1/2/08:

I hear that Train 397 will be operating in daylight, departing Olean possibly around 11:00am. Leased HCLX leading the 430.

LAL north into Avon with #420 and #425 leading about 17 cars before 9 am. Stopped and picked up the string of cars sitting on the Avon Industrial line. Went on north after picking up about 10 cars.

425 led the 420 and 30 plus cars southbound through Avon Village 1/04/08 at 5:45pm EST. Car were a mix of corn syrup tankers and grain hoppers. I think they left part of the train in the Barilla siding before they left because it seemed full. It was dark as they passed me standing on the road to Aldon chemical so I couldn't see all the way down the siding.

Please note Luther: In another thread you reported that the Barilla spur consists of 3 tracks; that is incorrect. There are only 2. One is a shorter storage track while the other goes straight through the receiving/unloading building.

1/9/08 LA&L working the Avon yard, and industries with #425 during the late morning, a possible run to Kraft after lunch. Howletts south switch is in, but was not used. The MOW siding project west of the main in Avon is getting attention both yesterday and today making good use of the warmth and lack of snow. Departed Avon southbound for Lakeville shortly after 3pm.

Working Tues/Thurs. now?

Expect them ANY day of the week... If you didn't notice, the amount of traffic along the line has increased SIGNIFICANTLY.

You are right Mike, they spent between 5-6 hours working in Avon the other day. Alot to do here, now with Barilla, Kraft and Howletts. As for carloads, Kraft could possibly be the smaller user here. There's Good business right here in Avon!

On 1/15/08 LAL MOW laid the ballast on the new siding in Avon yard. Shuttling between the siding at Papermill Rd. to load ballast and the yard. URL=http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/24 ... 0904KqoLTD]Image[/URL]

Today, 1/16/08, #420 and #425 arrived in Avon around 9am and serviced Kraft and headed north with over 20 cars before 10:45am
