Interesting Consist Discussion for the North Side

Looks like 1703 has made its way up to the North Side according to NETransit.

That's the third 17XX so far this year and there are now two on the North Side at the same time. Wow

1531 was the control cab on 302 this morning -- a 5-car flat set including another MBB.

1522 has made is way north as well and is currently the control cab on a 6 car set.

Hearing through the grapevine that the 1600s are cycling through PTC work which is being done on the South Side, tying up somewhere between 3-6 cars. Hence the need to move other control cars north. Might we start seeing 1600s as actual control cars south?

1631 is currently leading a 7 car set Northside. There also seems to be an all-MBB set roaming around? I saw one rolling by a week or two ago while waiting for the orange line at Sullivan. And yesterday, 1512 was leading a Fitchburg line train.

The German car set is the PTC test train.

Do you think the 1600 cab cars will come down south now that PTC is being installed?

7 Car set on Newburyport train 173 tonight.

First time I have seen a 7 car set since the Beverly Drawbridge project when fewer sets were needed.

Wonder what's up where we have enough cars kicking around for a 7 car set at this time.

I noticed Cameras and possible microphones in car 835 today. They were to the left of the electronic display. Bigger and much more visible than the ones that were on the Passenger count train.

Anyone know their purpose? Security surveillance or a new look / more cars being set up for passenger counts?

1506 was leading train 160 this morning.

Also saw a Rail Train heading past the new Casino they are building.

408 has a double header this morning. 1064 and 1053 were pushing the set. 1646 is the cab car.

1824 was attached to the head end of the PTC Test train this morning.

1064's HEP is dead. They've been together for over a week now.
