CNJGeep wrote:According to the website, five sets in service this week. Starts are 9597/9703/705/809/9216. However, I suspect the last one may be a fluke, since there's no w/b (s/b) turn for it. PLUS an off peak RT to Trenton.
9216 turns off 1203. Could be a fluke... but we will see...

I thoughtlessly put this on the other thread, so I'll copy it here:
I went to North Broad to see the five trains, and saw four of them. I assume one had substitute power.
train 9534: 803, 804, 706, 705, 807, 808
train 726: 707, 805, 806, 703, 815, 816
train 9216 or 9820 (another reason I rue the demise of the color-coded destination signs): 709, 811, 812, 708, 813, 814
train 9700: 801, 802, 704

Bob: Neat Silver 5 pictures here! I am getting to like their look more and more...but that color scheme is just overkill on these cars...

I would have just striped them across the top as in the center of the car and added a lighted numberboard on the upper right where the number is located...and a "cigarstripe" on the front end...the red and blue look fine but I would have opted for solid red there...

I would have the SEPTA logo on them the same as the MFSE M4 cars do...that is all the S5s would need...MACTRAXX

Or a three-fer, in the form of newest equipment meets oldest. You've got a set of Budds in the background on Track 5. Great shots!

I was at Market East this morning waiting to head for home on train 402. All three Silverliner V sets ran this morning, but were running late as follows:

1203 (3-car set) spotted deadheading to Suburban from Roberts at Market East, approximately 5 mins late.
9597 (6-car set) passed in the tunnel, approximately 7 mins late
9703 (6-car set) passed at Temple U, 10 mins late

Of note, 802-801 was in the middle of 9703's consist, and all destination signs were properly working on the entire train. I guess they found the solution to the glitch with signs not trainlining through the prototypes....

1203 was actually 4 cars as I rode on it's turn trip 709-813-814-706 and they were on the 9:56 Trenton run. 805-806 made the evening Newark trips with the other 4 cars I mentioned. The Elwyn Vs were a no show.

CSX delivered 819 and 820 at Woodbourne Wednesday morning.
Republic Lemon RL1000 SPAX 60 came up from Wayne Electric, but had to continue east to let train 4346 cross over to the westbound track, after having to wait for train 3425 to clear.
#60 then moved west of Woodbourne station to avoid activating the Woodbourne Road crossing signals during the transfer. 820 and 819 followed, and the delivery was made adjacent to the east end of Woodbourne Yard.
The crew inspected the cars prior to departing.
