After much debate and being a Libra (no help) I have decided to go with the D5000. Lots of stats like the D90 plus bracketing . Thanks for all your
help and suggestions. I'll keep you posted when I get one!

I get the D3000 since last winter and I'm very satisfied with it,for a beginner,it's the best to do entry in SLR world, before to get a highter one, like D300 or D90..

For having done the trying of D3100 and D5000,it's almost the same, but with the option to take video...
video results are good, but no automatic focus if you expect to change the range of your lense while shooting..
And the sound are really bad if your'e close to the trains,or noise sources..
here'a kind of result we can get with D3000

Well I did end up w/a 3000 after all. Had $$$ but couldn' t find a used 5000. I was able to get the 3000 for $450. Seems to be good enough for me coming from a point and shoot....MERRY CRISTMAS guys !
