I use SeptaDroid, which seems to work a heck of a lot better than the official app. I used to use SeptaDroid before the official app came out, but this app has not been updated since 2013. For bus location info, I use SEPTA Instant. For Regional Rail, I use TrainView, but it is useless on the Trent...
Your post reads like one of the SEPTA surveys. I do trip planning on my own and do not rely on any of the apps. SEPTA's tracking data is hit or miss and not a good idea to rely on it at this time.
The NJT set went home. Six Silverliner IVs on 1724 this morning. It still terminated at Suburban Station though. Conductor was originally announcing Temple University as the last stop, then recanted at 30th Street.
PA would not pay for it. Philadelphia fights just to get SEPTA subsidized. Some representatives in Harrisburg equate transit to welfare.
New Jersey is a pass-through state. It is bookended by two major cities (New York to the northeast, and Philadelphia to the southwest). Despite whatever one may believe, New Jersey's economic activity is torn between those two behemoths. NJ's rail services are focused on New York because it has hist...
Trains 1794 and 1763 on Trenton Line are the NJT set.
Trains 9798 and 9747 on the Trenton Line are a MARC set. I rode it last night and the HEP went out every time the train came to a full stop. This morning, it didn't even show up.
Isn't that where the NJT set has been laying over midday over the past couple months? Also, I thought that Vs were limited to a maximum of 6 car trains?
SEPTA Starting to get Regional Rail Cars Back on Track SEPTA expects to have its Regional Rail trains back on a normal schedule by Oct. 10, thanks to the hard work of a Lower Bucks company. [...] Working more than 15 hours a day and on weekends, employees at PennFab have fabricated 340 of the 480 b...

Can confirm that 3318 runs with multilevels on the lower coast line. Rode it a month ago.

Mr. Norman: I don't know what kind of deal SEPTA has with Amtrak, but it has been reported that the MARC cars are being rented by the day. I am not familiar with railroad equipment leases and find it fascinating that there could be a HP/h metric by which these agreements could be metered. The leased...
I rode the NJT set in this morning. The equipment looks like it has seen better days. I couldn't even read the number board on the ALP-46 until it was right in front of me! It was crewed by SEPTA staff with what looked like an NJT engineer (probably not right position, but he was not in SEPTA unifor...
Finding rail assets to use will not get them though this, they should be looking for buses and pick a line and do busatitution on a line or two and use the railcars they have on the longer/busier lines elsewhere. I agree--in part. I would expect that most intra-city stations have access to bus rout...
