Thanks for the info. I've always wondered about that!

A few notes about 252: I'm really glad they've chosen the original MEC paint scheme: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=307774&nseq=0 I'm excited to see what they plan to do with the nose rectangle....Like 573, I'm sure it will be awesome while keeping the heritage alive! Another poin...

Oh no, I have no doubt in CSRR's ability to
maintain their locomotives.

[quote="Wayne Hills"]Yes, The U23B and Beaten 23-7 have ties to New England, but not in Northern NH. Sure, the same could be said for the FP-9's; Canadian ties, but not New England. However, they certainly looked a lot better pulling a matched passenger consist than either the GE's, the 25...

Yikes! I didn't mean to offend anyone. I just didn't know! I don't see why DSR would want 1055. They have the 70tonner from the belfast and moosehead lake that would be perfectly capable of pulling their trains.

I don't know! Why did they buy 2 GE's? Maybe they just got a good deal on them. Although getting a good deal from Pan Am seems kind of strange. If it weren't for the fact that this was in thw heel report, I would not believe it.

Well about the gp35 not being a heritage unit, it's not like the b23 or u23 had any new England/mec connections either.

Anyone else hoping that the part about the sisters and 1055 leaving does not come true like this rumor did? As excited as i am to see 2 havest gold and green 2nd generation geeps back on the mountain, I'd be really sad to see the sisters go. Especially to guilford fail system... oops i meant pan am....

So according tithe Conway scenic's wheel report, 252 has been purchased by the CSRR and it will be repainted into her original gold and green MEC paint with CSRR lettering. In addition, the railroad has purchased high hood GP35 216 which also will be painted in the MEC colors.

For those interested Mass Coastal's GP28 returned to regular service on the energy train for the first time in 6 months this past week. I'm not sure why, but since the installation of her cab signals in september, she has seen only very limited serviceon the final CCCX excursions of 2009, and in plo...

The state did not purchase CSX's track from middleborough to cotley jct. they are still owned by csx. MC will own cotley jct to New Bedford. not Middleborough to New BEdford.
