So i stumbled upon an aritcle saying that the Arizona Eastern Railroad, which the E8 on property belongs to, has been purchased by Gennssee and Wyoming Corp. and therefore, the excursion service which the E8 was purchased for, will no longer operate. So to me that would make it seem that the 6070 is...
I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but a mars light has been added to the E unit. It also sports a new 5 chime RS5T horn.
1502 did need quite a bit of work to become operational again. for the most part, all of the parts were there, however, a lot of unsolved electrical problems were present, and the body of the engine was in TERRIBLE shape. would have taken a lot to get it running.
For those interested, I do not know if it has been reported here yet, that CCC 1502 and 1201 were scrapped the other day at East Wareham. Here's the remains of 1502.
There was an article in railpace saying that the 6070 is there only temporarilly and it will be sent back to the railroad it is lettered for, the Arizona Eastern this winter. One of the main reasons they are using it, is the fact that it has a head end power generator. Supposedly, SNC is getting its...
With all of the expansion that has taken place over the last few years at Cape Rail, there is no reason that the railroad can not make money. The new management will, and has already been making things better. Cant really elaborate, NORAC rules. Rest assured, the train will be running for a while on...
Though the 567B blocks are sometimes mechanically annoying, it is nothing that cannot be solved with good maintenence. On the railroad I work at, we have a GP7 with the original B block and it works just fine. As long as there is a good mechanical staff, they shouldn't have any problems. As for the ...
One of the BL2s for the S&NC was released from the shop a few days ago. Saw some pcitures floating around on the web. It looks just like the drawings that were posted on this thread a while back. http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/r ... ?2,2496107
This month's railpace reported that PAR 1 and PAR 2 are being "rebuilt and one of the SD40's will running the OCS trains. Any legitamacy to this info?
According to trainorders, the f unit went back to colorado, but the D&H painted GE is still coming east.
There are no operable budd cars on the cape
Found this last night. Looks great. Very nice looking engine. Great job to the Adirondack staff!!! http://rrpicturearchives.net/showPictur ... id=2554104
I noticed through the pictures of the OCS from last week that PAR 2 has a new horn. I know PAR 1 got a new K5LA before the trip last year, but PAR 2 still had the M3H horn it came from CSRR with. PAR 2 now is sporting what appears to be a K5h horn.
The horn currently on 216 (or atleast was at the end of the season last year) was the K5la that was on 2820. It has always sounded sort of wierd even when it was on 2820. Not a normal sounding k5la
