With a reduction in the number of Yard jobs in NYP, there often becomes times where trains have to be left in the station while crews are doing other moves. More than likely a crew would be enroute to NYP from Sunnyside with a train for the morning. After bringing that train into NYP, they'd take th...

From posts on Facebook, the train is scheduled to stop in Lancaster at 245pm for a photo op. Looking at the public timetable, it will be following train #670 east out of Harrisburg.

Unfortunately your time at Conrail would NOT be factored in if you hire as a locomotive engineer because of the break in service. Also, the company website has job postings for engineers in PHL, but there are no real spaces. The carrier hires when they have people eligible to retire in 2 years under...

Don't forget the cookies upon check-in. Lol

If you want the job, apply and follow up. Yes, many times a Class 1 engineer will be hired over somebody off the street or from other crafts within the company. However, I know some RFE that prefer not to hire previously certified engineers because they already have experience running, but not the w...

Although hiring previously certified engineers may sound beneficial to the carrier, it is not always the case. Many Road Foremen prefer to hire off the street or other employees from other crafts as opposed to hiring Class1 engineers. It makes sense, many engineers from other railroads have to be &q...
