Coach 527 was on train 604 this morning, I haven't seen any of the MBBs coaches in trains in several months on the south side.

Why were/are these getting shipped out? Warranty/acceptance work?

Does the MBTA really have enough extra locomotives to start storing GP40MCs? After this past winter I think not, sure lots of HSP46s were delivered but all of the screamers were stored. After the Rail World lease unit's are returned will there be enough spares? At this point there seems to be plent...

for those keeping track, as of today, 8/4 there are 9, 4 car sets floating around South Side. Only 129 B/L's in service, and 79 single level cars totaling 208 cars in service South Side...and 13 HSP's on sets Amazing that Keolis just can't make any improvements in service. Certain sections of the southwest corridor had ties and ballast from day 1. Mostly around crossovers. Recently some sections of floating slab have been replaced with ties and ballast. If you are on a car with good wheels, you can tell the difference when you are on conventional construction - noise...

Yesterday's NETransit snapshot shows 330 the only one left in-service. Did 310 start pining for the fjords too? What's left for operable standby units if 3 are now off-lease and 274 is sitting in Rochester a little crispy? 293, 301, and 310 are on their way out of town, or will be departing shortly...

904 burnt up last night on the Readville Switcher...haven't heard the official word on how bad the damage was, but sounds pretty bad. There are four 4 car sets floating around Southside as of today, as well as a train with the 1035W end and 1066E end I thought I saw that 1035/1066 set last week, I ...

It's not actually necessary to enter any code. The survey will complete without it.

According to the NETransit roster, that's 19 coaches short for peak demand. Wow.

It was a rough couple of days on the Needham Line. One set died last night (sorry, forget which) and had to couple to the following train to get to Needham. This morning, 604 failed a couple of times before eventually getting coupled to the 606, with the combination running about 25 minutes behind t...

Incidentally, something I hadn’t noticed previously is that the unlike the other road locomotives in the initial Universal series, the UD18B did not have floating bolster trucks, but rather the conventional swing bolster types with elliptical secondary springs. The 2-axle GE Floating Bolster truck ...

Any idea why two locomotives? Seems like extreme overkill.

I'm surprised there wasn't at least a removable decal applied. Decals cost money. So do leaser locomotives, retrofitting them with signal units, qualifying staff on them, and cost of fuel. Quite a bit more than a sticky decal. Of course, but my point was that Keolis has shown itself to be pretty ti...
