I was 10 when CR started. I can remember my dad asking "What the hell kind of railroad are they running anyway.?" "Instead of CNJ you have Penn Central with Lehigh Valley and Erie Lackawanna engines." Little did he, or the rest of us, know what was to follow. I hated the fact tha...

The newly finished Rte 31 bridge over the out of service NJT in Hampton has the CNJ herald on the southbound side of the bridge. A fitting tribute.

I knew those were freight horns I was hearing not NJT horns. They must have snuck him in before the two 4:00 Red Bank trains.Every other time I was down there they sent him after the Red Bank trains. That's what I get for starving and giving in to McDs.

What time did you take that picture? I got to Red Bank at 4:00 and walked over to the switch. Rails on secondary had fresh shine on them and I heard horns in the distance. I gave chase but didn't see anything. Traffic was so bad I gave up and left.Looks like I would have been disappointed in the mot...

R&N has tank cars stored all over the system. There is another string of them on the former BM&R track from Hamburg to almost Temple. The line breaks in a few places for crossings and bridges but they are all white tank cars.Would love to be there when they move them out.

I don't know symbols but I can tell you this much, merchandise freight has really dropped off since 2001. I look back at my old videos and can't believe what used to run through here.

My buddy just showed me pics of the Bel Del taking a lumber car to West Easton over the former CNJ main line. This is apparently a new customer. Great to see a train roll on the old CNJ in Easton again. I know BDRV had another customer that got tank cars a few times a year but not sure if the still ...
