I heard a rumor from a fellow railfan I know that once it went to Chicago on the QNLCH-15, it would be going back to Erie to be painted in UP colors. Would someone confirm this as being true or not? Here's some pictures of the cabs of a SD50F and a GP9RM, taken just yesterday. Special thanks to our own "jg greenwood" for this. CN 5416 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=736080 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=736086 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net...
The Wisconsin Central SD45's last hurrah! http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=724675 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=714541 If I was closer to these units I would be more upset maybe even angry. It should be known the picture in the bottom link is your truly's,...
Yes, the units were delivered around 1992-3. I already mentioned that... now if you don't mind i'd actually prefer someone who's connected to the CN/IC to answer my question, thank you very much! Geez, U-Haul was only trying to be helpful. Maybe if you saw his other 600-something posts, you'd see t...

The SD40-2s and -3s are numbered 6100-6265. Most of the -3s and the units with dynamic brakes are in the 6200 number slot. The rest of the units had their dynamic brakes removed. A smart IC decision. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=300183 Below Illinois Central on the cab there...
Here's one that got in frame of a picture I took looking out the back door of the last car:

When exactly did the former BN SD40-2's show up on the IC? I believe it was either '92-'93 when they first appeared. I still remember it like it was yesterday, BN units still in their full Cascade Green paint with original BN numbers, and the huge white "Illinois Central" patch over the BN...
UPDATE: already two SD70M-2's (8002 and 8008) and a GEVO (2233) have already came down this way.

Why did CN get the sudden hard on the retire them ASAP, instead of simply retiring them as they suffered major failures, like before? Since there were so many still active, their goal to have them off the system right at the beginning of the year failed miserably i'd say!
While on the subject of Railpictures.net, looks like LocoPhotos is slowly becoming RP's little brother. Ever since a few months ago when the new guy took over, it has slowly turned to hell. The guy running it has now put up a whole bunch of guidelines, such as not allowing pix of railroad employees ...
Hi, EMD-SD-60 ''UP 5278 max speed' (I hope this does not mean max speed is 5278 - mph or what?) and its a good photo, too. By the way: you have a nice picture of yours - though we can't hear you drumming along I guess it should be some kind of Hard Rock?. Yes, that would be the locomotive's number....
