Maybe its cuz the only thing that's been running on those tracks in twenty years is the mr-90, which is much lighter. And those tracks just can't take the weight. What I don't get is why they don't just buy/lease three or four surplus/used electric only engines that were used in the NEC, which shou...

CN mignt have authorized the AMT to use the ALP-45DP locomotives on its network. The locomotives will be back on duty on the Mont-St-Hilaire line next June. For the overcrowded Deux-Montagnes line, it is still unknown when these engines will be used with the multilevel cars. In the meantime, AMT 136...

Here's a beautiful picture taken by Nicolas Houde of two AMT ALP-45DPs (AMT 1364 on the lead and AMT 1357 on the back) on duty on the Vaudreuil/Hudson line. The picture has been taken on the Valois train station:

The F59PHIs will probably be used on the Candiac line since Vaudreuil-Hudson now uses te ALP-45DPs... Any idea on how much time it will take to repaint the ex GO locomotives? I'd like to go railfanning soon and hopefully get some videos of them in action! For now, not all the ALP-45DPs are being us...

I was talking about the F59PH1s which used to run on Blainville and Vaudreuil. Where will they run now? Some of them are undergoing a major overhaul now. I think they will still run on the Candiac and Vaudreuil/Hudson lines. They are too high to enter Central Station so they won't be used on the Mo...

Où iront les anciennes locomotives de la ligne Vaudreuil-Hudson? Mont-Saint-Hilaire? Most of those locomotives like the F40PHs and the GP40 PH3s are leased, so they will return to their original owner which are Amtrak and New Jersey Transit. On the Mont-St-Hilaire line and Candiac line, they will s...

The ALP-45DP are now on service on the Vaudreuil/Hudson line. Meanwhile, AMT 1350, 1352 (the one that has derailed in Central Station in December 2011) and 1353 were transferred few days ago from CN to CP network. This could mean that it will still take some time before those locomotives can be used...

From some recent news, after the TSBC has released it's investigation report on the Central Station derailment and blaming CN's track conditions, CN expects the AMT to assume the bill for its own failure to keep Central Station's tracks in a good state. CN is claiming 7.3 million $ in order to repa...

I heard that a while ago, one of NJT PL42AC locomotives has derailed once at Hoboken train station. It seems that the cause of the derailment was also a the same as AMT ALP-45DP 1352 in Montreal Central Station since the switch and the track was very weak in Hoboken station, am I correct? The PL42AC...

What we also learn through this report that Bombardier engineers and technicians have modified the wheel profile of the AMT ALP-45DP in order to reduce the lateral forces and prevent any further derailment. That is the reason why CP (Canadian Pacific Railway) has authorized those locomotives to run ...

Hi, I know that this thread is not related to the AMT, but at least what I'm publishing here is related to the ALP-45DP. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSBC) has released today it's investigation report concerning the derailment of AMT ALP-45DP #1352 that occurred on December 2011 in Mon...

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSBC) is publishing today the investigation report concerning the Montreal Central Station derailment that occured on December 2011. Yes I know about Deux-Montagnes, I live near Sunnybrooke. Why won't the ALP-45DP's run on the Mont-St-Hilaire line? MSH is a CN owned line and they won't play ball. With time, CN should trust the German built locomotives since none of them has derailed yet at Lucien-L'Allier station. The tracks at ...

Here are some videos that I've taken during the past few days of the ALP-45DP locomotives on duty on the Blainville/Saint-Jérôme line, I've seen ALP-45DP #1355, 1360, 1362 & 1368 during the evening rush hour:

Allright. Question: besides the Deux-Montagnes train, does every line have it's own model of train and locomotives? Since the Deux-Montagnes line is the only electric train line in the AMT commuter train network and the four other lines (Vaudreuil/Hudson, Mont-St-Hilaire, Candiac and Blaiville/Sain...
