I don't know if this is storm-related but interesting none the less

The 11:14PM train from Penn due Ronkonkoma at 12:37AM is being held at Brentwood due to an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks near Central Islip.

Has anyone heard back that applied in November (the OP)? I had my son apply, but he hasn't heard anything. Does anyone know if the applications are still active? I don't know if they are still calling for assistant conductors ,I know a fellow Cam took the test for it last Friday. So maybe they are....

Pineaire would have been a prime spot for an intermodel yard,If NS instead of CSX got the rights for freight to LI, the RoadRailer operation of NS would have been the perfect fit to bring freight in. It's too bad that CP just gave up their rights to NYC freight and P+W is somewhat limited to stone ...

Funny. I took this picture last night during the RVC fireworks. The row of people in the front were all sitting with their legs hanging off the platform. A few minutes later, an eastbound pulled in. Luckily it was stopping and not moving very fast.

I saw NYA was featured in the new movie "Man on a ledge." Does anybody know more about this? If you stop the trailer when the train hits the car, you can see a grade crossing that they installed for the movie.
