So what does the LIRR consider the RBBB circus trains to be? Metro North appears to allow PV's into GCT and on it's property so the question is LIRR policies.

how many pounds of pressure does a pantograph apply to the overhead to guarantee a constant electrical connection, given roadbed variances, variances in the wire surface, wind, overhead sag (not as much with constant tension catenary), and not overly stress the carbon tube on the arm?

curious whether the B&O/Smithsonian museum would be interested in one. Before anyone says it's primarily B&O and successors, they do have a sad looking GG1 next to their restoration shop.

here's a laymans question

is the control layout of an Acela different from a ACS-64?

the engineer just cam off of one and seemingly went right onto the other. Would that have anything to do with the "throttle up" just before the derailment?

i was on 2168 on Friday and 195 Sunday caught in the same 40 min time tunnel. I would of thought Amtrak would of been able to recover on Friday night and Saturday. sighted in Mamaroneck NY EB at about 1:30p a ACS-64 with a three car train whit what appeared to be the Corridor Clipper and the Amtrak theatre car.
