1st 3 weeks is all classroom except 2 or 3 days outdoor training at one of the yards (lining switches, giving car counts, pretty basic stuff). The classroom is pretty heavy GCOR. By week 3 you're begging to be out of the training center.

Apply with CP. We're so desperate for conductors right now I think they'd take anyone with a pulse, especially in Elkhart, IN.
If you're asking about the new UTU conductors contract then you will see the wage increases on your timeslips starting July 1. All backpay will accrue until that point, and the backpay checks should be out sometime in the fall like Sept. or Oct.
I think I'm gonna move to Australia.
Good luck with CP, man. You have it good now. But what goes up must come down. If you don't see that, maybe you should wake up and realize that this isn't "Alice In Wonderland". Good luck. Let me know if you survive the next upcoming recession. If you don't know what I mean, maybe you sho...
Where do you get the "double standard" thing from? I'm not the one that quit his RR job and is now crying because he can't get hired back from said RR. Also, how do my statement's "justify their runaround"? I'm all for CP hiring more people. I'm working my a$$ off right now becau...
What about you? So the railroad railroaded you, get in line. You quit, what do you expect? I work for CP, and there's plenty of guys that quit at one time at my current location. There's a few of them trying to get back on and the company is denying them, even though we are terribly short on people,...

** Komachi sets down his cup of tea and turns his attention to an ornate, purple vase on one of his low tables. He takes a cover off and says but one word... ** "Jeannie." ** A blast of pink smoke and a young, buxom, redheaded, woman resembling Lauren Bacall appears, dressed in an outfit ...
So, you're already a trained conductor, and now you're worried about going through the training again? I don't see the problem here. It should be a breeze for you.
I think they usually just go outside the Soo Line Building and look for the dumbest and most destitude people they can find and make them a crew disaster.
Seriously, if you have half a brain and a good work history you're already twice a good as the dispatchers we have with CP.
Mr. Wiz, color yourself fortunate that my term as Moderator of this forum expired during August 2006, for as far am I'm concerned, your material would have been removed as soon as I had knowledge of such. While other discussion sites thrive on rumors, this forum does not. Postings of the "I he...
[quote="musicmarine"]I think the contract is crap. I am a new guy and this is my first "relationship" with the UTU. I feel I have been lied to and their rhetoric that is being spewed is just trying to get everyone frightened so they will vote yes. Think about this. The next time ...
