I'm relatively new to Denver and would like to see UP #844 on July 27 on its run from Denver to Cheyenne. I would appreciate suggestions on good places close to Denver to see/photograph the train.

Thanks

The train will travel on the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad from Denver to Cheyenne. The route generally follows US Highway 85 through Denver, Commerce City, Brighton, Ft. Lupton, LaSalle, Greeley, Eaton and Ault. It then continues to Cheyenne.

Note: the old Amtrak station in Greeley could be a good place to catch this train Do not confuse the route with the BNSF line between Denver and Cheyenne which runs further to the west (toward the mountains).
