UP biz train with 1943 leading is already on its way to Rottersdam. It's currently travelling toward to Chicago and will get onto CSX track to reach Rottersdam. It will arrive buffalo on Friday and, from my understanding, will stay in Buffalo overnight.

THen it will travel through NYS daylight on Saturday.

The timing/schedule is tight lipped so I have no idea what time... It's going to Railex. For what, I have NO IDEA...

It should be returning to west the same way it comes from, either right after this event or following day.

Too much vague on schedule but it's NOT RAILFAN RUMORS...

Railex is a UP property as of a bit less than 2 years ago: https://www.up.com/media/releases/170103-railex.htm

Here's an interesting recent speculation of pending changes to produce service to Rotterdam: http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/111/t/271976.aspx

UP is acquiring new refrigerated box cars for produce shipments with a mind to increase shipments (containers may be involved):

If you are a paying member of Trainorders.com, you can see pix of the UP biz train led by 1943 rolling east through Rochelle, IL: https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/ ... ?1,4636310

Alternatively, for free you can watch Perry Elston's video of the UP biz train trundling through Rochelle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDzQ-3VzFgU

Very nice looking train (maybe next year 1943 gets replaced on the biz train by 4014  ). TO poster says that officials of both CSX and UP will be touring the Railex facility.

Managed to see it on the return trip completely by accident. Somebody got some nice photos of it from the bridge at Canajoharie.

I saw a picture of the train on the Castleton bridge and wondered what the heck they were doing down that way.

Perhaps CSX was wyeing the train at CP-SK and used the bridge for headroom?

Pure guessing on my part but from Google Maps aerials looks like if a crossover on the B&A was needed by the OCS, the 1st one east of SK appears to be on the east end of the Castleton Bridge.

I just saw a post on facebook that said they were posing for photos on the bridge for some reason.
