They are very good photos. Years ago I would take photos of the CNJ there.

Hey guys keep this to the Southern Secondary Thread no need for two threads for the same train, if the TRIT is reopened then we can start bringing things in here thanks!

Greetings all,
Since the Toms River Industrial track now ceases to exist (for now & the foreseeable future), I thought I would revive this thread temporarily with a few old pics that I have uncovered from 1989. Don't get too excited, it's just SA-35 on the CibaGeigy spur, but for those familiar with the line, it may bring back a few fond memories from years past.
Thanks to Mike (Pinewald Station) for assistance with local information.

Chris..pic 3 shows a white building in the background and youdcan make out GILES on the sign. I used to wok in that building and the company name is Giles and Ransome. The road next to the track is Germania Station Road. I believe the blue boxcar is spotted at Builder's General. I have to mess with the pics I have of this line. Might need to find a scanner. They were the good old days-railfanning at work! Oh, that white abandoned building in pic #4 is now a Value City furniture store .......

Great pics. I'd like to see more. Decent amount of traffic then, 20 years later it's all gone.

I hardly ever brought a camera with me and missed quite a few trains. We had a 5 year lease on the building and we were out in 5. That coupled with the mess at Ciba ended a golden chance
for me. Moral of the story...always have a camera and don't wait til tomorrow !

Thanks for the additional info, Mike, and yes, keep a camera in the car, even if it's a small pocket sized one; you never know when you'll need it!

Mike (or anyone else), when CR came in to drill BG, did they go into CibaGeigy to runaround the consist? Or, was there another spot to change ends that I'm not thinking about (Toms River?)? I can't imagine that they shoved all the way back to Lakehurst with 8 or 10 cars....
