Tolono,IL

Took a trip to Tolono a week ago. All interchange track with the CN is gone. It has been silent for a year or so. It does not look like the happening place it once use to be....... Todays railroading:-(

Is there still interchange traffic among CN, UP, CSX at Tuscola?

There used to also be a yard for train assembly in between the C&EI and B&O tracks, anything left?

Yes there is. Not really as much as there use to be or should. The most activity is the Cargill Grain elevator. There is always a ton of covered hoppers to be filled.

Where is the Cargill elevator in Tuscola?
There used to be several yard tracks in between the C&EI (UP) and B&O (CSX) main lines that went almost entire way East to West thru Tuscola. Anything left of these? or just the interchange wye to IC (CN)?

Cargill is actually located on the UP tracks west of town just beside US 45. The IC has a track that leads to the elevator tracks from the south. There is still track that runs most of Tuscola down the UP and CSX. You will see a car or two there at times going to the CSX or UP.
