According to Bill Caloroso's Pennsylvania Railroad's Elmire Branch, the last train ran on August 10th, 1942 and the trackage was formally abandonned on Murch 28th, 1943. The rails were were probably lifted shortly afterward, as they would have been quite useful for the war effort.
