According to timetables, the name of the railroad is Springfield Terminal. All the labor agreements are with Springfield Terminal. A few engines were actually lettered Springfield Terminal, but I think they are off the roster now.
HOWEVER. If you're talking about a colloquial name, then its whatever you like best. Down here, the CP Rail train that runs on Metro-North is referred to by everyone as "the D&H."
Call it Guilford, Pan-Am, Boston & Maine, it doesn't matter. They are all correct.
Largely no one outside of New England has remarked about the supposed name change to Pan Am Railways because no one takes the company seriously at all.
