This morning (7/30), SLRS #4211 (B23-7, ex ATSF) was spotting switching cars throughout the Pureland Industrial complex in Bridgeton.

B&O 412 is owned by the URHS and leased to SMS.

Amazingly, the paint on 4211 looks better than some BNSF units I've seen in service for their railroad.

For an East Coast guy, always loved the SF paint scheme.

SMS put it's Baldwin power OOS in favor of GE now?

Maybe it has A/C, and a toilet, and a new control stand thats not so noisy, and 2300hp as opposed to 1200. I think it was used in their operation up in the Albany NY area, and came down to HQ when that operation ceased or went to another operator or something. I cud be wrong....kinda what i remember..

#4211 originally came from NY, but spent the past few years at the Sunoco refinery in Westville, NJ. Since the decline in oil production, #4211 was sent to SMS Lines in Bridgeport, and #2003 (ex PRSL GP38) went to SMS Lines in NY.

I can't say for sure why SMS has been using #4211 as of lately, but their Baldwin fleet is far from being OOS. I think it may come down to what specific locomotive is being used any given day.

SMS switched out the interchange in Bridgeport, NJ yesterday with the 4211, still in the SF 'Bluebonnet' scheme.

I took a ride through the industrial park in Bridgeport, NJ this morning (1/20) in hopes of catching SMS Lines at work. To my delight, they were using PRR #9069 (DS44-1000, blt in 1949) today. I took a few shots of the switcher working the CSAO interchange. The cars were brought down into Bridgeport by WPCA-11.

I even messed around and shot a few seconds worth of video of #9069 crossing Sharptown Rd with some nice "horn action"!
