Hopefully BBD will get NJT to get Next Gen Arrows instead of the MLV II based design EMU's,the "must be able to tow MLV II Coaches" requirement will sink this idea fast. Looks like its a done deal. Arrows gone by 2022. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wWG4GhScBL0&feature=youtu.be&fbc...

Hopefully BBD will get NJT to get Next Gen Arrows instead of the MLV II based design EMU's,the "must be able to tow MLV II Coaches" requirement will sink this idea fast. There is still time for that?? Thought this order was a done deal or has BBD not designed it.? Im assuming this is stil...

OT, but yea, the state of NJ has certainly helped persuade 90% (or more) of the industry in north jersey to leave. Some would have left anyway, and Conrail was no help at all. They wanted to eliminate as much carload freight as possible. Trying to talk their local customers into trucking freight fr...

I'll be happy to see a shortline operator on the former DL&W lines. Maybe they'll drum up some business. Not that I want to see 2 more NS jobs abolished, but they were taking 12 hours to do a RT from allentown to washington. Sometimes they would take 12 hours for a 1 way trip. And sometimes 2 t...

Word is that seven of the eight will be leased by NJT, the exception being 2302. NJT needs power, or at least cabs, while their PTC installations continue to meet the year end mandate. It will be interesting to see if the SEPTA locos are actually used to power trains or just serve as glorified cab ...

Let's stop and think for a moment. ... All I'm going to say is, anyone's who's getting tight in the trousers for these engines to turn a wheel may want to release that breath they've been holding. That's really a Damn shame... Here am I sitting here thinking the only reason NJT is leasing them is s...

Will the ban on ALP44s hauling Multilevels still be in effect? One of the Septa Schedulers said they will strictly be used with Comets.. Im guessing this will free up other ALP46/45s to be used as cab cars with the MLs since those cabs are getting PTC installation.. But at any rate I'd imagine the ...

Are they abandoning new business prospects from the scrap dealer and other potential shippers on the to-be-abandoned portion? Yet to be known! Blackstreet,

The Arrow Mus are mainly used from Hoboken to Gladstone and a few are now sent to and from Morristown during the morning rush. Also one evening rush hour train to Dover also has a 3 car set. I think train #657 Hoboken to Dover.

Word on the street is they will only be used on 5 or 6 of the Morrisville to NY Penn captive trains.. But if they were used to replace ML cab cars going for PTC upgrade, then you would think they could be used anywhere out of NY Penn without the HEP since their would be a ALP45/46 powering the train...

Revisiting an old post with new information... In the last few months some NJT engineers have spotted survey crews taking measurements along the north side of the M&E between the East end of Dover Interlocking and the Rockaway Loop. Rumors (good old railroad rumors) seem to suggest that the new...

So is there a timeline for when the new locomotives might enter service? 2020, 2022, when?

Also, wonder if any other commuter railroad may purchase them when they do get retired?? I know this is probably a better conversation for years down the road!

Any idea the trains they are assigned to this week? Plan on going down there either tomorrow night or Friday if they are still being used.
