How far West Casey? I went through St. J. over Labor Day and nothing was done on that end..
If they win the bid, then they have to follow the guidlines set in the bid package. The State would have the final say.
I do believe there were cars with them, just don't remember what had.
I saw a train on the line in Fryeburg, in 85 or 86, may have even been 87... I don't remember the consist, only that it had a couple locomotives and a caboose, and was moving slow.
Two weekends a year. 3 days in the spring and 4 days over Columbus Day weekend in the fall.
Next fall, I think the guys are going for a museum record as far as track laying goes. If I can have the ground ready that is..
Fall Work Weekend has seen the track extened 1422 feet. This passes over several repair locations, one of them being "The Pinch Point" where a section of the grade was washed away into the brook. A concrete block wall was built to replace what was missing. The new unballasted track is seen...
Rumford loading station is not near the proposed bottling plant. A whole new pipe line would be needed for that.
Interesting that the article states there are other sites being looked at, even when Fryeburg turned them away supposedly.
I have been told the stretch from Lewiston to Leeds is rough at track speed. I would expect to see either the tamping crew there or the speed to be dropped before winter.

Short story on the bridge. When the line was sold to the State of New Hampshire, there were 2 of these covered truss bridges on the line. Moose Brook and Snyder Brook. The tracks were removed and trail was created. In 2004, someone set fire to the Moos Brook Bridge. Burnt or charred almost every bit...
It was a huge day. We had a board meeting that night and the President was all choked up when he said how proud he was to part of the museum. A ton of hard work and dedication. My only regret was I am on a tight schedule and could not participate. I did watch them back the bridge across the brook.
I disagree. Hobo has great views of the river, and Downeast has the big swamp they cross that has a wide variety of birds living in it.
He and I had a lot in common it seems. Wish I could have met him.
I have heard that they pay quite a bit in cab fare, so I can understand why a manager would demand payment.
