Yes with the decline of coal things have changed big time there.

Since I posted the original message, CSX announced the complete closure of Russell Yard, with all work now being done at Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati. Another site is reporting that the yard jobs at Russell have been cut from 15 per day to 2 jobs working local industries.

Now the diesel shops are reported as being closed. Any update on operations through Russell?
