Cost. If the standard is one rest-room car per train, and there are enough to comply without the cabs having one, why spend the extra money?

1858 is in service. Not sure about 1856 or 1857.

1857 has tracking data from a Fairmount Line train a week ago on pantographapp.com, but it was most likely a mistake (maybe they accidentally set up tracking data), as it doesn't show up when you read through what pantograph shows what went on the Fairmount line.

Tracking data was turned on during a midday move from the Readville Yard. 1857 is not in service, but it is getting prepped for it.

New Rotems 881,882,1862,1863 arrived Middleboro May 10th. Should be in Rochester by now. This group may have come out of Savannah, Georgia due to the mess in Baltimore. If not them, the next batch should be.

Did the batch before 1862 and 1863, 1860 and 1861 ever get delivered?

1860 & 1861 were delivered 4/16

Confirmed this group was redirected to Savannah and railed from there.

FYI, 1808 was recently sent north. I assume over the weekend by the readville switcher.

As stated on netransit roster, Update: On 05/23/24 the MBTA Board approved an option with Rotem to purchase 41 additional Blind Trailer Coaches to be delivered starting in 2026. That means in 3 years, we will start seeing more blind rotem cars start replacing the blind single level coaches.

Let's see if they can handle the additional rotems without screwing anything up again. And hey, maybe this means a couple 700s or 800s will turn up north-side! Maybe we'll get the first full-bilevel north side train. That would be funny to see.

Remember, we don't want to see any K-cars besides the 900s go north. They are our only reliable cars we have left.
