Here is a vary short story from a guy who remembered poleing cars on the N&W he makes short refrence to it being band already but recalls it being done in the 1960's. I would suspect that the N&W band poleing cars befor the 1960's. Maybe this is just a railroad rule and not a federal one?? or maybe its just something that was band from use on the N&W?
