I realize that the PRR crossed the Schulkyll south of Reading to get access to its station which was near what is now the east end of the Penn St. bridge. Did the PRR also follow the west bank for any distance? The reason I ask, I saw an old postcard that made it look like there was a freight terminal on the west bank of the river, thought it might be the PRR's.

Hi Fan,
Yes the PRR Schuylkill Valley Branch traveled the west side for at least 16 miles after Reading Pa. untill it crossed the Schuylkill River at Hamburg,Pa.

Here is a picture of Temple Station on the Ex. PRR The railroad is know owned by Reading & Northern , It was also known in the 1980`s as the Blue Mountain & Reading Railroad.

This was the PRR station built by the PRR. the station that sits there today was the Reading Co. Frackville station moved there in 1984.

Hope that helps.
