I realize this isn't neccesarily a SEPTA topic, but it seemed that folks who read this forum might be interested.
I don't know if people remember back when one of the final PCC-IIs arrived a while back it was reported that Peter Witt 8534 left Elmwood Depot after sitting idle for possibly more than 10 years. It was reported that it was hauled off to the museuem it belonged to, and stood a chance of never sitting on rails or operating. I happened to be in Scranton this weekend and visited Steamtown saturday morning, my pictures are largely terrible, and off-topic, so I'll spare you those. I didn't actually go into the Trolley Musuem, but I did notice a bright green PTC trolley with "40" on it's rollsign right up front. A trip across the parking lot confirmed it was indeed 8534, which I had feared was lost after leaving Elmwood Depot. It's sitting right up front next to P&W #401, and appeared to be under good cover, without any snow sitting on it's roof. It may not be operating, but at least it's not sitting rotting at Elmwood Depot while SEPTA becomes more and more apathetic of it's historic fleet.
