Can anyone tell me what CSX has been doing to the single track between Hyattsville MD and the former Conrail Benning Yard? They have cleared most of the trees and brush under the old telegraph line and seem to be widining the grade crossing signal posts. There are also grade stakes parallel to the track. It looks as if there is going to be a second track installed. This is a busy section of track these days.

I figured out what was going on. New signals. Say goodbye to the old B&O position light signals. Anyway the right of way was really cleaned up and the old pole line is now clear of trees and brush. I guess that CSX is using this line for signal power as the pole line has not been removed. YET. I was hoping for a second track.
