I heard that Conrail does not roster any locomotives of its own anymore, only "borrowing" NS and CSX locomotives as needed... this true? Does this mean that there is no rolling stock attributed to Conrail any more?

This is all true all locomotives and cars are owned by either NS or CSX. CR reporting marks are NS cars... NYC reporting marks are CSX

Conrail pays(yes pays!) NS and CSX to use their locomotives. Its strange when you think about the fact that NS and CSX both pay to run Conrail. I guess thats how the business way of things must go.
