I was just browsing through the library of congress website and typed in Jermyn, PA (Where I live) just to see what would come up, and the only result was a map from the 1890s of the town. Theres one thing that confuses me though, apparantley in the lot right behind my apartment a railroad labeled on the map as the "OC&S RR" ran through here, there is even what looks like a station that would've been behind a flower shop 2 buildings down from me. The only thing I can think of is the NYO&W, has it ever gone by some other name? Other than that I'm lost.....

Heres a link to the map (If it doesnt work just copy and paste):

The Scranton Division of the New York, Ontario and Western was actually the Ontario, Carbondale & Scranton (OCS) -- formed in 1888 by the consolidation of three smaller lines (the Hancock and Pa, the Forest City & Stateline, and the Scranton & Forest City). All three of these short lines were owned by the directors and officers of the O&W who received stock in the OCS.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it would be something like that.

Now I've got to get a shovel and see if I can dig up any insulators (my other hobby) from the telegraph lines that might be buried there! :-D
