I've been purusing CSX employment for quite awhile and so I figured I would pass on the tricks I've learned to you guys. If any of you have applied in the northeast as a Conductor and you're not having any luck with getting invited to an interview session, you should contact the recruiter directly via email or phone. Express your interest in the job. CSX sees this as a big no no because you're crossing red tape, but the bottom line is they need people. Going above and beyond will definitely leave a lasting impression.

I can only povide information of the recruiter responsible for northeastern locations because I have not pursued opportunities outside of these areas. Dan's HR assistant or direct colleague is listed beneath his profile.

Individual : Danny Ferguson
Title : Managing or Field Recruiter
Region : Northeast
Location : Baltimore, Maryland
Phone : 410-525-8562
Fax : 410-525-8567
Email : [email protected] or [email protected]

Assistant : Sheron McLendon
Title : Senior Recruiting Specialist
Location : Jacksonville, Florida
Phone : 904-359-3100 CSX Main Number (route to the switchboard, ask for conductor staffing, then ask for Ms. Mclendon)
Email : [email protected] (possibly, unconfirmed)

When you submit an online application for review, it is transmitted to the conductor staffing department. Once analyzed and approved by understaff at level one, it is then routed to either Ms. Mclendon or Mr. Ferguson directly for further consideration. This information is to be used responsibly and cautiously. But it shold help some of you get the job you want. Do not disclose to anyone at CSX you have acquired this information. It will really piss them off.

Good luck.

What about the south east will these contacts work or not?

Look at his screenname. Obviously he's just upset and being immature about not getting hired.

yea I can see how my old name would have been misleading.. which is why I disabled that account and created this one..

but in all honesty, I'm not upset at anything.. in fact I still have several applications in a pending status with several rr employers.. I'm just trying to pass along some useful information..

the infomation I supplied was gathered from some basic research I did on the net.. so it's not really confidential.. if they did not want it leaked they shouldn't have posted it for public viewing..

either way I sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your careers :)

It's possible.. but I can't guarantee it.. I don't know specifically how many managing recruiters there are or specifically and one hundred percent accurately in which states they're responsible for.. I imagine you could confirm this by calling Jacksonville and asking if this gentleman covers the southeast region.. or just call him and ask directly. shrug..

Here's the other side of the coin, the original poster (who might be on to his third name now) didn't mention. What if your name is on the pile of callbacks, and you call a person, not readily available to you in the hiring process, and you pester him for a job. What if that action caused your application, to be filed away, in the circular filing cabinet? What the poster saw as a great way to get noticed, might INDEED get you noticed........ :( (if it was such a great way to "land that job", why isn't he working?) Go through the proper channels, use the procedures given to you, by the road that's hiring, and BE PATIENT. Just some random thoughts. Regards

Sage advise by Golden-Arm and other railroaders here as well as in the employment forum--patience is a big key.
