Can someone provide details about the Sunday local on the HRRC? When does the crew go on duty? Where does the train depart from in Cannan? Also- what customers are en route that need to be switched?

It seems to vary, like railroads usually do.

About a month ago on a Sunday NX13 tied onto a train and were out of Canaan by 0730; this past weekend they worked the limestone plants east of town before departing around 1000. Depends on what the Canaan area shippers need, and how the NX12 train (from Pittsfield) was left on Friday night/Saturday morning.

Haven't stayed with them at New Milford, but have alternately heard they get taxied back to Canaan, or work the K-C plant and sometimes go to Danbury. Maybe both can be true (see 'seems to vary', above)?

The photo opportunities heading south are limited, due to high trees along most of the route. Best bets I've found are the West Cornwall, Cornwall Bridge, Kent and New Milford stations.

Don't forget NX11's northbound afternoon runs on Mondays and Fridays!
