Did the D&H serve Plattsburgh AFB prior to its 1995 closing?

Yes. One of the interesting items was a B-52 and KC-135 simulator that went in and out every several months. It was installed in passenger-type cars, two I think. They also received various machinery and equipment.

The track used to end at the central power / heating plant. The fuel may have come that way.

Is there still any trackage in the heating plant itself? Also I thought they were getting ready to tear down the plant.

Heating plant building and associated track has been removed. A new runaround and spur for salt unloading has been put in on the opposite side of the track from the heating plant.
