Last night (Friday, Dec. 15th) I went out for my Friday evening of train
watching. First stop was the local commuter station (Tri-Rail) to see if I
could find out anything about the new cars, found out nothing but did see
two trains and got a newsletter.
Then to the Florida East Coast where I saw four trains in a one hour
period. Very productive evening.
I rarely run into other railfans around here but last night I did run into a
young man who is still in high school but very interested in railroads. The
talk arrived at computers eventually among other things and I asked him
if he checked out various railroad or organizations and he answered in the
affirmative.
I would have liked to refer him to railroaddotnet but I could not in good
conscience due to the obsene links that have appeared on here on a
frequent basis recently. His father is also a railfan so he said and I can't
imagine the hurt if he were to stumble onto someting obsene here so I
did not tell him. I truly wish I could have and if the leadership is able to
put a stop to spam and related junk, I will if I run across him again.
I can't believe that very many on here would refuse to put up the sum of
about 50 cents a week to be able to participate on here. In my opinion,
quality is more important than quantity.
