Found this recent youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot9IL0YrTYc

There is a coal transload operation at the port of Buffalo using part of the old Bethlehem steel Lackawanna plant. Includes a car rotator, conveyor, gravity return, and old switchers. Creator reports coal from the Bailey mine in SW PA is being transloaded there for Canadia.

Enjoy, or not.

I love his videos.

What a strange operation that is, it looks like the Walking Dead meets trains. I wonder how one got to lease just the unloading operation out of the entire closed Steel Plant.

The large building (which I assumed was to keep the coal from freezing in winter) looks like they all used to be through tracks at one time. Now they pull the cuts out and shove them all through the center track.

As I was exiting the south entrance at the steel plant I see the ship CSL Niagara loading coal. The boom is extended to either balance or get out of the way of the coal loader. I couldn’t get any closer.
