0220-0420/12-07-2022 was 2 hours with not much happening, the timespan only cuzza less-than-MAS cuzza occasional carwash-intensity rain and occasional ground fog and a persistent desire to make no more Bambiburger.
0222 produced some PW Yard hash, things quiet until D-3 answered FI-2 at 0233, rogered what they said, and then OKd them to continue E. Hello, Lafarge and/or Arrowhead!
0239 and 0243 would produce spells of Dispatcher-side hash, occasional Yard-Channel hash also occurring.
There was Road-side hash at 0252, and 1 later, D-3 answered 16R, advising that their next stop would be, garble mode now in effect with something about "trash" and "Freight Main East or Freight Main West."
2 later, the 333 WLs were dark, as would be the 334 1 WB stagger and both sides of the 335s, so the 16R was already either E or fairly well W. The 334 ELs had been at Stop.
Partway WB up Da Hill and at 0310 came D-3 call out to M4426, a hashed response to follow. There was now pretty much a straight line between Mount Wachusett and me with the Paxton antenna to the SE, so D-3's further statements -- except for "yard" -- got hashed.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark ,with a mix of general pretty much FP-FP on 4 in the yard, a a high0-side gon E and a low-side W.
In between were a mix of covered hoppers -- at least 1 shortie -- and tanks, a number with LPG placards. There were also 4 wrapped centerbeams, so somebody's moving lumber. Guessing 16R set-offs. Tie stack? Indeed.
Some Yard-Channel hash would be part of the EB trip, and the 333 WLs would be dark at 0330. The EB staggers for 330 would be at Approach, but all else up to and including the the GL WLs would be dark.
The FG WLs and ELs would be at Stop, the FI-1/2 parking spot MT at 0346, a solo covered hopper on the W end of East Side. There had been Dispatcher-side hash at 0342 that got repeated at 0348, and at 0352, activity in the RVJ lot meant no view of the EB staggers for Derby.
At 0356 and with Mount Wachusett again a negative influence, D-3 answered *somebody broken.* 1 later came "...lined and locked and checked normal at OX," so guessing 16R, the earlier radio silence mebbe being from releasing handbrakes and/or doing update paperwork.
The only other thing that would come outta the speaker before the 0420 end of listening would be PW Road at 0418.

0218-0410/12-09-2022 started off with M426 with CSXT 954 reaching out to D-3 and D-3 issuing time-effective 0220 Form D G301 for Burncoat to MP X 25. To clear up 426, there would be a 0233 "Roger good on the marker and clear of New Bond," followed at 0412 by power and XNG noise far to the E when I was leaving my car.
There were some hashes, too brief to see the origin, and at 0241, D-2 called out to NA-2, naught further from him coming outta the speaker.
0248 produced some FI-2 garble, and 5 later, the 333 WLs were dark, and it would be Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s. Mebbe evolution is finally kicking in: I saw a deer that crossed Rte. 2A nonstop.
There was 0303 Dispatcher-side hash followed immediately by D-3 asking the Grain Train if their lead unit was cab-signal equipped, rogering whatever the response was. Dunno if they mighta been coming from Boston Line or Freight Main, but they were far enough away to not even produce hash. Naught further would be heard to, from, or about the Grain Train.
At 0306 and with Mount Wachusett doing its usual tricks, D-3 answered AY-3 and gave some breakage to the 5933 -- yes, a 4-axle -- to do something -- mebbe a 241 -- on 1 W at CPF WL.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and the Extension and 1 W to between Royal Steam Heater and the ambulance company had mixed general -- covered hoppers, boxes, and scattered LPG tanks.
The Sameolesameole Ledger still had the tie stack between the House and MART fence. What I had thought on 12-07 mighta been transportation waiting in the lower lot was there again. Mebbe it just parks there.
EB and with Mount Wachusett being obstructionist at 0318, there was a mutally garbled exchange between D-3 and what sounded like M427, 1 that only got worse.
At 0322, the 333 WLs were dark, and further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach. Post refueling Stop. -- $3.16 nonmember regular at Cleghorn and $3.46 " at Main Street -- all was dark from the 330.8 WBs up to and including the FGs.
At 0341, the FI-1/2 parking spot and the W end of East Side were MT, and 5 later, activity in the RVJ yard prevented a view of the EB staggers for Derby. At 0348, D-3 241d AY-3 -- still with the 5933 -- on 1 at CPF AY E to 1, next asking how many MTs they were bringing back, the unrepeated response getting a roger. A number of unattributable car countdowns of varied intelligibility would occur, the only other clear reception coming at 0400 when AY-3 got permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed W to CPF AY.

The latest grain train came via the B&A, captured on the Westfield and Chester railfan cams yesterday afternoon.

0220-0420/12-13-2022 was heavy on hash, so only the more notable servings will be noted.
At 0235, a breaking D-3 OKd FI-2 to continue E. There was more, but unintelligible.
4 later, there was D-2 hash, followed in 1 by D-2 giving LAED -- power and location and direction hashed -- permission to reverse direction from where they stood. Another 4 later, there was a broken D-2 241 to POED with the 7542, other deets lost, so no idea the separation between LAED and POED.
At 0252 and after a few more Dispatcher-side hashes, the 333 WLs were dark, and 2 later, the hash was of the Yard-Channel variety. The 334 ELs were at Stop and the the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark.
At 0301, there was D-3 hash on Yard Channel, followed in 2 by more Yard-Channel hash with only "427 leaving" being clear. A subsequent reception would show that this was about a departure and not set-offs.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, 4 in the yard had mixed general, covered hoppers and a coupla boxes W to Royal Steam Heater and tanks -- placard status not determinable --- the rest of the way W to just about the FP. From the E FP to the computer company, 2 had a mix of unplacarded tanks and covered hoppers that included 1 shortie. And yes, the tie stack looked so festive in its holiday snow.
Just to prove scanner function, there were a few bursts of Dispatcher-side activity EB, the semiclarity coming at 0321 when D-2 had a broken convo with TC 680.
At 0321, the 333 WLs were dark. Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, all else dark from the 330.8 WBs up to and including the EB staggers for Derby at 0343.
At 0337, the FI-1/2 parking spot had been MT, as had been the W end of East Side.
At 0358, a breaking D-2 called out to POED, naught further getting to me.
0403 was when D-3 reached out to M427, advising that there was no work in Ayer and that when they *garbled* he would give them a Form D, adding "You guys are good to twenty-hundred, correct?" So either my ears need tweaking, or the Hours of Service have been more than tweaked. Or possible something else.Naught further came outta the speaker on that or any other matter until the 0420 end of listening.
M426 or AY-3? Naught heard to, from, or about.

0215-0425/12-15-2022 started off with power noise to the TT E, mebbe just W of Clinton. There was 0218 PW Road hash that -- just after lock-out -- became "Run down IM-3 and pick up Track 11, 20x13." 1 later came D-3 answering 427, rogering what they said, and adding they'd got it, so guessing the earlier power noise was 426.
Things would go back to Hash Mode on Dispatcher side at 0236 and 4 later.
At 0244, the 333 WLs were dark, and the 334 ELs would be at Stop and the the 1 WB stagger dark. There was more Dispatcher-side hash at 0251 before seeing darkness on the 335s.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were all at Stop, trashes on the 2 at the Timpany Boulevard UGB. The swing-around showed slurries on the 1 to the E with dark KCIR 7595 and NewBlues 3403 and 7542 sitting by the MART garage. Guessing -- given the power and slurries -- an EDPO or mebbe an EDLA. The cars on the 2 had now morphed to racks. At 0305, D-3 241d 16R with NS 6952 2 W to 2 at CPF AY and advised they'd need a 241 at WL when they went to San-Vel. 0306 was when the racks stareted creeping W, the marker clearing the Jade at 0307, the same time that D-3 asked 11R for the counts, which were 11x94, 6971 tons, and 9174 length, the 346.6 coming on at 0309 and giving a 0320 no defects, 502 total axles, 14º (my car showed 22º at Chair City Oil), and 7556', significantly different from the C's report, so mebbe the head end mighta already been sitting on the Single for a bit. Or mebbe it's recalibration time. The view between the slurry gaps showed the yard MT.
At 0318, D-3 had given FI-2 with the 5933 permission to reverse direction from where they stood and proceed W to CPF AY. 2 later and just after 11R had cleared the 346.6, D-3 asked 16R to check the switches at AY for correspondence and reverse. 2 after that. D-3 -- still on Channel 1 -- hashed something to somebody. I was still in the same spot for the earlier receptions, so guessing a more W antenna had been used.
The Sameolesameole Ledger? The stacked ties between the House and MART fence and the mini-limo parked in the lower lot.
EB and at 0328, there was Road-side hash followed by D-3 answering M426, That produced more Road-side hash followed by D-3 hash.
0333 was when the 333 WLs were dark. 4 later, there was Dispatcher-side hash in a ZombieZone, and the EB staggers for 330 would be at Approach.
Post refueling stop (The Cleghorn Cumby's now at $TWO.95 for nonmember regular, and Main Street at $3.33), all signals between the 330.8 WBs and the EB staggers for Derby at 0357 were dark.
At 0351, D-3 gave 16R a broken 241 -- John Fitch ZombieZone -- and 1 later was when the FI-1/2 parking spot and W end of East Side were MT.
0406 produced a clearer 241 for 16R, this for 1 at CPF WL to Freight Main 2, the balance of the trip producing only occasional Yard-Channel hash.

Given discrepant predictions for storm intensity and duration over the next 48, there probably may not be a 3rd report this week. I had started out on 12-14, but an increasing squall turned me around at the West Boylston-Sterling line.

0220-0410/12-19-2022 got busy at 0229 when D-3 told AY-X to get all the MTs and to tie down at the Pine Tree, the next bit broken. 10 later, AY-X advised D-3 that the MTs weren't on the straight, but the loop, garble following. D-3 breakingly said they should get them cleared up if they could. There was "Milling" and then "easier for the new crew" included in the breakage. Radio silence -- at least for me -- would now set in.
At 0252, the 333 WLs were dark, the usual Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s to follow.
WB up Da Hill, there was PW Road hash at 0300, followed in 2 by brief Road-side hash.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and 4 in the yard was pretty much full, tanks on either end. In between, there were covered hoppers, wrapped centerbeams and a coil car that had NW reporting marks with NS covers. Lower altitudes had had any snow pretty much washed away, but Gardner's was still there, and all tracks -- main and yard -- had been run on since the snow stopped. Tie stack? Still there.
At 0324, the 333 WLs were dark, and further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, all else between the 330.8 WBs and the FGs dark. The FGs, however, musta just gone dark cuz -- at 0338 -- an illegible KCIR was shoving covered hoppers into the W end of East Side, the possible source of the 0331 both-sides-of-Channel-1 hash and the definite source of car countdowns that would end at 0339. At 0336, there had again been more D-3 breakage to AY-X.
At 0343, the RVJ lot was active, so there was no view of the EB staggers for Derby.
At 0402, D-3 again answered AY-X and rogered whatever they said. 1 later, D-3 answered M426, but shifted to Channel 2, so things got hashed, this exchange in time correspondence with the 0115, 0125, 0148, and 0158 XNG noise I'd heard from inside Château-jaymaque.
There was 0405 D-3 garble to AY-X, and naught but else but hash until the end of listening at the end of 0410.

0215-0410/12-21-2022 started off at the start with Road-side hash followed by D-3 -- a new-to-me voice -- saying something broken about coming up to the Camp and asking how long they expected it to take. There would be hash, followed by saying they should save it for tomorrow, something else broken, and take it down to East Wye.
As a prelude, there had been XNG noise heard inside my home at 0147, 0200, and 0204, the intervals and diminishing volume suggesting a WB. Never heard a fulfillment or anything else for either M426 or 427.
At 0228, there was D-3 garble to or about FI-2, and 4 later was the start of a spell of intermittent Yard-Channel hash, Channel 1 clarity coming at 0235 when D-3 hedzupped AY-3 about needing a 241 at WL, that coming at 0241 to the 75?1 for 1 at CPF WL to 1 on the Freight Main. Mebbe the 0215 breakage had been to AY-3.
At 0250, the 333 WLs were at Stop, NSs 6942, 3613, and 4624 having done that on 1 just W of the WL, usually the sign of a longish train. There were racks W, but over at the all-Stops 334s, the 1 was MT and no marker visible E.
The 335s were dark, and Yard-Channel hash briefly resumed at 0259, 3 later there being an "FI-2" and naught else, except for a bit more Yard-Channel hash.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark, and 4 in the yard was occupied from the E FP to the W end of Chair City Oil by covered hoppers, a tented centerbeam, a high-side gone, and a mix of LPG and unplacarded tanks.
EB, a detour was made to the Wachusett platform where a marker sat on a rack a bit E of the shelter. At 0236, there was a mix of Road-Side and Dispatcher-side hash, and 1 later, the 333 WLs were at Stop.
Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, and the 330.8 WBs and GL WLs were dark, but the 330s were all at Stop, MT racks sitting on 2 a bit E of the platform shelter. The FG WLs and ELs were at Stop, the E end of the MT racks not visible.
At 0342, the FI-1/2 parking spot and the W end of East Side were MT, and 5 later, the RVJ lot was active, so there was no view of the EB staggers for Derby.
At 0355, there was Road-side hash, followed in 3 by Yard-Channel hash. 7 later and with Mount Wachusett being an obstacle, there was D-3 hash, only "16R" and "crew" being clear. so mebbe the tie-down at 333 was getting recrewed.
The brief rest of the trip featured only non-company hash, and as of 0505, there was no XNG noise to suggest any activity on the W end of the Worcester Main.
 #1612366  by jwhite07

XNG noise on the W end of the Worcester Main occurred ~0640-0650ish. Cannot tell direction from my point of listening with the crossings in earshot being roughly equal apart in terms of travel time (and no, still not faster), but a possible source of the noise may have been the Bow coal train, which had passed the B&M Live cameras at Chester and Westfield at 0042 and 0112 respectively.
 #1612397  by jaymac

0215-0415/12-22-2022 started off with the theme of the day -- Dispatcher-side hash, followed in 2 by more of the same from AMTK. 0249 improved a bit to a mix of hash and garble, "POED," "pick up," and "wye" being clear. It would later emerge that it was from D-2.
At 0248, the 333 WLs had been dark, Stops for the 334 E:s and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s following.
0255 produced more hash/garble, this a mix of both sides of Channel 1 and the clarities being "Line 12," "leader," "Thorofare," and "7257."
0258's hash/garble start would come from D-2, "CPF LJ," Line 12," and "Time Effective 0259" being clear. 1 later came a partial 241 for the aforementioned POED with the 7517, no other deets.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark. 2 in the yard had a mix of a coil car, unplacarded tanks, and covered hoppers from the W end of Chair City Oil to close to the W FP, while 4 had a mix of LPGs, MT centerbeams, and hoonose what else. 0305 was when D-3 answered AY-3 and OKd them on signal indication at 312. The tie stack continued to be the entry in the Sameolesameole Ledger.
EB at 0309, there was Dispatcher-side hash, followed in 3 by a partial 241 for a Single to Single at CPF 303, that being followed in 1 by another partial 241 to the 7561 for Single W to 2 at CPF 312, so guessing AY-3. The 241s continued at 0317 with another partial to the 7517 at CPF NC for E to 2, so mebbe the aforementioned pick up was complete.
It has been a bit since I have contributed toThe Shrines Of The Deities Of CPF 345 And CPF 333, but 1 or both were forgiving cuz at 0319, the 333 WLs showed a Clear for 2 plus an EB headlight, NSs 6954, ????, and 4018 getting their cars E of the WL at 0325. The car-count was disrupted for reasons to be seen, but a good number of tented sheetrock centerbeams were followed by even more covered hoppers, the large number of BNSFs suggesting grain. Next came a long cut of tables with both single-high and DS trash containers. 13 racks were on the tail.
The car-count disruption came at 0322 when D-3 called out to M427 and asked if ??? was E and clear of MP X 25 by marker. Evidently so, cuz next came time-effective 0323 Form D G303 to CSXT 473 for MP X 25 to Burncoat. I'd heard power and X 7.8 crossing noise inside my home at 0106, mebbe from M426 or equally mebbe from the LCT that johnhenry posted about at Greendale on 2216/12-21. To close out M427, there was XNG noise at 0527, 0540, and 0549, appropriate intervals for Prescott Street, X 7.8 and X 6.0.
For a bit, I was either just W or E of the presumed 16R's marker -- the EB staggers showing an Approach for 1 and Stop for 2, the 330.8 WBs a Clear for 1 and a Stop for 2, the 330 WLs Stops, the GL WLs dark, and the FG WLs and ELs Stop. At 0338. any view of the FI-1/2 parking spot and W end of East Side was blocked by EB DS trashes, but 5 later, the tracks were MT at a truck-active RVJ yard, so guessing they'd stopped for work at OX.
The rest of the trip was just a few Channel 1 and 2 hash spurts.

For anyone wondering why the M-W-F pattern wasn't observed, F is supposed to be very rough weather and self-preservation has become -- finally -- a finely-honed skill.

Happy and Safe Holidays to us all!

Edited for update -- NHV 669's of 1029/12-22 and neman2's of 0932/12-22 in PAN AM COAL TRAINS would indicate the the potential of the Worcester Main EB being the LCT and not M426 is quite strong.
 #1612523  by rustyrails

I heard a train late last night EB that may have been the coal train. Fifty cars and I think I heard LCT.
 #1612550  by NHV 669

Definitely wasn't another LCT, given that the next one has yet to make it east of Buffalo. They definitely wouldn't run an LCT to Bow back to back days either, that doesn't make any logistical sense. The ECT wyed at Chelmsford and departed west about 25 minutes before you made your post. They're running as R004 both ways east of Selkirk.

0215-0415/12-26-2022 was quiet until 0230and a Dispatcher-side "Roger that," followed by "That is correct." Guessing D-2 cuz it was a different voice than later D-3s, which came 3 later when D-3 called out to FI-2, saying he was checking to see how much longer they'd be there cuz 426 and 427 would be meeting between AY and WL. There was some hash, and then D-3 OKd them to continue W.
There was a spell of Yard-Channel hash at 0240 that possibly included D-3 and probably 426.
At 0244, FI-2 called out to D-3 and garbled -- cuzza increasing distance -- something about Fitchburg, D-3's response garbled cuzza Mount Wachusett.
4 later, D-3 called out to M427. They were to meet M426 at Groton-Harvard Road, bring M426 to *garbled, but possibly Westford*, and tie down.
At 0248, the 333 WLs were dark, and the the 334 ELs and 1 WB stagger would be dark at 0253 when an again-breaking D-2 acknowledged somebody clear of Meadowcroft Street. The 335s would be dark.
At 0257, there was Road-side hash, 1 later being when M426 said something broken to D-3 about East Wye, D-3's response totally hashed by Mount Wachusett.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop, and the yard seemed a facsimile of 12-22. Frozen switches mebbe? At 0310, D-3 answered 426, rogering what they said and telling them to stand by. 3 later came permission to cut out the PTC. The shunting for the 345s came from markerless general on 2 that started by the SpeeDee and continued however far W of the Timpany Boulevard UGB.
EB and at 0318, there was Dispatcher-side hash, and 1 later, there were public safety encroachments on multiple High-Band frequencies.
At 0322, D-3 answered M426 again, but again Mount Wachusett became an obstruction, so dunno.
At 0327, the 333 WLs were sdark, and 1 later a strong, but breaking FI-2 said something to D-3, D-3 suggesting they try giving it a roundtrip, FI-2 saying some about switch points, D-3 next asking when they got when they got it lined for West Side if they were just going to go in there, response and acknowledgment unheard, but the result would be seen in a bit.
The EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, all else dark, up to and including the FGs. At 0340, NewBlue 5958 was dark, solo, and W-facing on West Side, and the W end of East Side MT. 5 later, the EB staggers for Derby were dark, as well.
There was 0346 Road-side hash, 0359, Dispatcher-side hash, and at 0407 NECR hash, but naught else clear to, from, or, about M426 or 427. 12-26 being a 2XXX schedule for Keolis, there was wiggle room not ordinarily provided.
 #1612708  by jaymac

0222-0425/12-28-2022 started off with both sides of a Channel 1 M427/D-3 convo about getting a list of cars on Track 9 sent to the trailer. Dunno where 427 was, but their signal strength and clarity would normally come from the W end of the yard.
0235 had D-3 answering an unspecified somebody, naught further coming outta the speaker, so guessing a signal had been requested and put in. Things would now go into quiet mode.
At 0257, the 333 WLs were dark, and 2 later, there was the 1st of a number of broken D-2 receptions, at least some concerning TC 660. Occasional Yard-Channel hash would also now start. The 334 ELs would be at Stop and the the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were at Stop, and the yard was unchanged from 12-26. And 12-22. At 0322, the 346 WL was also at Stop, but there was naught visible E, nor at the Wilkins Road dogleg, nor at the Timpany Boulevard UGB, so dunno what if aught might be the shunting source, unless the signalling was devolving like the yard.
At 0325, D-3 reached out to 11R with NS 6953 and gave permission to open up the #2 and head W to CPF Camp. 4 later, there was D-2 garble that included "ready to copy," that followed by hash and a broken Form D G204 that mighta had a Line 12.
I had gotten back in range by 0334, so Yard-Channel hash would resume. 5 later, the 333 WLs were dark. Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, but all else dark, up to and including the EB staggers for Derby at 0359.
At 0349, there had been a broken D-3 check for lined and locked normal, the response hashed, so mebbe 11R. 1 later there was more D-2 breakage this to a TC about foul time. 0353 was when a solo covered hopper sat on the W end of East Side and NewBlue 5958 sat dark, solo, and W-facing in the FI-1/2 parking spot. There will be more about FI-2 to follow.
At 0409, D-2 answered TC 660, went into hash mode and then cancelled Form D G203. That was followed immediately by a request to set the air, appropriate timing for 400 at the layover facility.
0419 was when D-3 called out to FI-2, the crew evidently repurposed. What they had been repurposed to do I dunno cuz the Temple Street/Rte. 140 sag S of the X 7.8 crossing did what it does best and produced a 2-minute hash storm. The last 3 produced dead air.

Edited for possible M427 update: XNG noise 0703 for MP X7.8 and 0714 for MP X 6.0, followed at 0715 by a repeat. Pedestrian? Animal?
Traffic noise mighta obscured any XNG noise for Burncoat, or they mighta tied down there.
 #1612799  by jaymac

0215-0415/12-30-2022 had 0202 and 0210 XNG noise as a prelude, but no power noise when I was walking to my car, so mebbe a WB. At 0219, a whole series of 264 car countdowns started, and 1 later, the X 7.8 talker -- still "B&M" -- announced it was checking train, proving that audio propagation can be as compromised as electromagnetic propagation. I got -- naturally -- to the X 7.8 too late to see the power, but there were scattered cuts of LPG tanks, boxes, covered hoppers, scrap gons, and a good number of C&D gons. At 0225, the gates came, a no defects being announced.Just before that, the 264 E was told they were going down East Wye and were good for 20. Various car countdowns -- some clear enough to be attributable to 264 -- would be served up while I was still in range.
At 0249, the 333 WLs were dark, and 2 later, there were some D-? hashes. The 334 ELs would be at Stop and the 1 WB stagger and 335s dark.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark and the yard crammed. The Extension and 1 W to the Pratt yard had covered hoppers, a tented centerbeam, a bulkhead with sheet steel, coil cars, scattered LPG tanks, and boxes. Covered hoppers were visible on 2 and 4, but seeming different than before. At 0305, D-3 answered FI-2 and seemed to be acknowledging that the power was back on, then garbled something about shoving back in and rogered whatever they next said. Some public-safety incursions would follow.
EB, there was Dispatcher-side hash at 0313, with noncompany hash following, so mebbe more public safety.
At 0320, the 333 WLs were dark. The EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, all else dark up to and including the EB staggers for Derby at 0339. At 0333, the FI-1/2 parking spot had been MT, 2 covered hoppers on the W end of East Side. 1 later, came D-? hash.
At 0340, there was Road-side hash followed by a presumed D-3 saying he was calling right now. Mount Wachusett now became a factor with Dispatcher-side hash at 0344, so dunno any further developments, but guessing either transportation or maintainer issues.
At 0408, D-3 called out to M426 x2, but I was entering the Rte. 140 sag ZombieZone, so dunno what happened. Outta the sag, things were quiet until the end of listening at the end of 0415.

May there be even more positive activity in 2023 than there has been in 2022!

0212-0410/01-02-2023 started off with "B&M detector" and naught else. There had been EB XNG noise at 0151, 0159, and 0211 which suggested that 10 MPH MAS was probably still in effect. The 0215 "no defects" also suggested a holidays-shortened train. I did finally get to see the X 7.8 crossing in daylight on 01-01, and there are shiny new equipment cases in place, but it's still "B&M detector?"
At 0213, somebody had told somebody else on Yard Channel that they were good for 20. 264 was a possibility, but given later traffic, it was probably 16R. At 0237, D-3 called out to 16R, hash in response. At 0309, D-3 would call out to 16R x2 and then again at 0311. In between ,there would be some mutually- hashed Dispatcher-side/Road-side exchanges.
At 0245, the 333 WLs were dark, Stops for the 334 ELs and darkness for the 1 WB stagger and 335s to follow.
Up Da Hill, the 345s were dark. 2 and 4 in the yard mighta been MT, but the Extension and 1 looked just like they had on 12-30, down to the tented centerbeam and bulkhead of sheet steel and LPGs and covered hoppers.
The EB receptions have already been covered, radio silence in effect post 0311, and at 0316, the 330s were dark. Further E, the EB staggers for 330 were at Approach, all else dark up to and including the EB staggers for Derby at 0341. At 0329, KCIR had been dark, solo and E-facing in the FI-1/2 parking spot, a box (W) and covered hopper onn the W end of East Side.
Post a $3.14 nonmember regular refueling stop at Main Street (Cleghorn dark), radio silence continued until 0346 and the start of a both-sides-broken D-3/M426 exchange. Among the clear bits, 426 was to pull down Track 11, wye their power, and go to Westford for 427. There was much more, but Mount Wachusett wasn't cooperative. Dunno where 426 was, but they were on Channel 1, so not yet in the yard and more data for 10 still being MAS. Wyeing at Ayer shouldn't be an issue since Keolis was on 2XXX schedule for holiday observation.
0358 produced brief Road-side hash, but the end of 0410 end of listening. but naught else.
